As of today, Monday January 14, 2008, the NRLCA announced on the "What's New" page of the Website "...that Thomas M. Markey has joined the NRLCA staff as the Director of Workers’ Compensation. Tom will be responsible for answering questions and giving guidance to NRLCA members who have been injured on the job and need assistance when filing an OWCP claim. He has an extensive background in the federal workers’ compensation field which includes six years as Deputy Director and thereafter 14 years as Director of the Federal Employees’ Compensation Program (FECP) (1985-1999). Early in his career, Tom served as a claims examiner for the FECP.
Tom has also served as Deputy Administrator, U.S. Department of Labor, Employment Standards Administration, Wage and Hour Division, where he oversaw the administration and enforcement of national labor laws which enhance the welfare and protect the rights of our nation’s workers.
